Data deletion
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This page describes how to request deletion of your personal data and how to disconnect Terminy from your WhatsApp or Instagram accounts. It also serves as the data deletion instructions within the meaning of Meta's platform policies.
1. For customers of a salon
The controller of your data is the salon with which you booked or exchanged messages. You have two options:
- Via the salon: tell the salon — for example via the same WhatsApp or Instagram channel or by email — that you want your data deleted. The salon triggers the deletion in Terminy.
- Directly with Terminy: send an email to info@terminy.net with the subject “Data deletion”. State the salon's name, your name and the phone number or Instagram username you used to get in touch. We forward the request to the salon and confirm the deletion to you.
What is deleted: your chat conversations via WhatsApp and Instagram including media, your chat contact profile, your customer account with loyalty card (loyalty points, VIP status, vouchers), your appointment and visit history, and the salon's notes about you. On request you can limit the deletion to specific areas (for example only the chat history).
Timeframe: deletion is carried out within 30 days of receiving the request, usually much faster. Technical backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
What must be retained: data subject to a statutory retention obligation (for example the salon's invoice records in which your name appears) is blocked for the duration of that obligation and deleted afterwards. During this time it is not used for any other purpose.
Note on WhatsApp and Instagram: deletion at Terminy concerns the copy held by the salon. Messages in your own WhatsApp or Instagram app and data held by Meta are deleted via the respective app or the settings of your Meta account.
2. For salons (Terminy customers)
Disconnect WhatsApp or Instagram: in Terminy, open “Chat AI” → “Meta connection” and choose “Disconnect” for the respective channel. Terminy immediately deletes the access token and unsubscribes the Terminy app from your account at Meta; new messages are no longer transmitted to Terminy. Conversations already stored initially remain in your Terminy account and can be deleted there.
Remove the Terminy app in your Meta settings: you can additionally revoke the permission on Meta's side: in Meta Business Manager, go to “Business settings” → “Integrations” → “Apps” (or the settings of your WhatsApp Business account in WhatsApp Manager) and remove the “Terminy” app. For Instagram, in the Instagram app go to “Settings” → “Website permissions” → “Apps and websites” and remove access for “Terminy”. All access tokens issued to Terminy then become invalid.
Delete your salon account completely: from the email address of your administrator account, send a request to info@terminy.net with the subject “Delete account”. For security we confirm the request by email and then delete the entire salon account within 30 days: all customer data, bookings, loyalty cards, chat conversations and media, staff data, settings, connected channels and access tokens, and the administrator accounts.
What we retain: contract and invoice records (invoices, proof of payment) for the commercial and tax retention periods (generally 8 to 10 years). These do not contain any data of your customers.
3. Confirmation and questions
We confirm every deletion request by email as soon as it has been carried out. If we cannot clearly attribute a request to a person or a salon, we will ask — we do not delete data at the request of third parties. Questions about data protection are answered at info@terminy.net; further information can be found in our Privacy policy.
